LGBTQ Cultural Competency Continuing Education Amendment Act

At the Annual DC Concerned Provider Coalition Lunch, David Mariner had the honor of presenting awards to individuals working to advance The District Council Bill B21-0168, the LGBTQ Cultural Competency Continuing Education Amendment Act.  This bill is co-sponsored by EVERY council member, makes changes to the continuing education requirements for health professionals at the time they have to renew their license or certification. It specifies that two credits of cultural competency specific to LGBTQ patients must be included as part of their continuing education hours. No LGBTQ training, then no license.Thank you Michael Francum, Allison Gill, Councilmember Yvette Alexander, Councilmember David Grosso and everyone who is working on culturally competent healthcare for our community.
